‘Not A Think Thank? Who?’ That’s right. You haven’t heard of us before. But you will! And here is why you should.
We are three humanitarian security risk professionals with an absolute passion for our job, our sector and most importantly, for the humanitarian, development and emergency response work that our organisations do.
We have been having conversations about innovation, professionalisation and the widest possible range of topics since 2018. Sometimes taking the form of six-hour city walks, more recently taking the form of weekly virtual meetings (still sometimes including walks).
We are not a think tank. We are not an organisation. We are a sounding board. A place to think out loud about humanitarian security risk management. A way to create synergy and growth for a relatively new sector and a niche in the wider security sector.
We are not futurists. We are not omniscient. Often we may not even be right. Not necessarily wrong either, mind. We do not claim to know it all, we by no means do and never will. We do want to share our thoughts with you though, and invite you to join us by sharing yours. Together we can innovate our sector and create a community that has an undeniable value proposition and is seen as a distinguishing and even deciding factor.
We may say things you wouldn’t say yourself. But you’re likely thinking them. The humanitarian security community doesn’t always talk about the things they should REALLY be talking about, because they don’t want to say them.
